01 Scope

This policy explains how personal data is handled when you use the BoltCal iOS app or visit this privacy-policy webpage. “We” refers to the developer identified at the end of this policy.

02 Data handled by the app

Calendar access and events

With your permission, BoltCal accesses the calendars available through Apple’s EventKit framework. This lets the app show writable calendars, create an event in the calendar you choose, and remove the most recently created event when you use Undo. Event details can include a title, date, time, duration, location, notes, and an alert.

BoltCal does not upload your calendar content to us. Events are saved directly to Apple Calendar and may be synchronized by Apple or by the calendar-account provider you configured on your device. Their respective privacy terms apply to that processing. You can change BoltCal’s calendar permission at any time in iOS Settings.

Natural-language input

The text you enter to create an event is interpreted locally on your device by BoltCal’s deterministic parser. It is not sent to us or to an AI service.

Information stored on your device

BoltCal stores your settings, presets, recent locations, selected calendar identifiers, and the number of events created with BoltCal on your device. Most of this information is stored in the app’s local storage. The created-event count is also stored in the iOS Keychain to preserve purchase-limit integrity. We do not receive this information.

iCloud synchronization

If you are signed in to iCloud, BoltCal uses Apple’s iCloud key-value service to synchronize presets and the created-event count across your devices. A preset can contain the event title, location, duration, selected calendar reference, alert, and notes you saved in it. App settings and recent locations are not synchronized by BoltCal. This data is associated with your Apple Account and processed by Apple; it is not accessible to us.

Location search

When you actively search for a place, the search text is processed through Apple Maps to return suggestions and resolve the place you select. BoltCal does not request access to your device’s current location. A selected place may be stored as a recent location on your device or inside an iCloud-synchronized preset.

Purchases

BoltCal Pro purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. BoltCal receives only the information needed to determine whether the Pro purchase is valid. We do not receive your payment-card details. Apple’s terms and privacy policy govern the purchase process.

03 This webpage

This page does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, external fonts, or tracking scripts. When the page is requested, the hosting infrastructure may process technical connection data such as your IP address, browser information, requested URL, date and time, and response status. This is technically necessary to deliver and secure the webpage. Server logs are retained only for as long as required for operation, security, and abuse prevention.

04 Purposes and legal bases

App data is handled to provide the features you request, including creating events, storing your preferences, synchronizing presets, searching for places, and validating purchases. Where the GDPR applies, the legal bases are performance of the user relationship or steps taken at your request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR) and, where applicable, your choices and device permissions. Limited website connection data is processed on the basis of our legitimate interest in reliably and securely operating this page (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).

05 Recipients and transfers

We do not sell personal data and do not share app data with advertisers or data brokers. Depending on the features you use, Apple and your chosen calendar-account provider process data under their own responsibility. The webpage hosting provider may process the technical connection data described above on our behalf.

These providers may process data outside your country. Where required, they are responsible for using appropriate safeguards for international transfers. For more information about Apple’s processing and safeguards, see Apple’s Privacy Policy.

06 Retention and your controls

Data stored locally remains on your device until you remove it in BoltCal, delete the app, or erase the relevant device data. Keychain data can remain after the app is deleted. Data synchronized through iCloud remains subject to your iCloud account and Apple’s retention rules. Calendar events remain in the destination calendar until you delete them there. You can revoke calendar access in iOS Settings and manage iCloud through your Apple Account settings.

07 Your rights

Where the GDPR applies, you may have the right to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of personal data, and to object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may also lodge a complaint with the Austrian Data Protection Authority or another competent supervisory authority.

Because we do not operate user accounts or receive the app data stored on your device or in your Apple Account, we may not hold data that can be linked to you. For data controlled by Apple or a calendar provider, please exercise your rights with that provider directly.

08 Children and changes

BoltCal is a general-purpose utility and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal data. We may update this policy when BoltCal or the applicable legal requirements change. The date at the top identifies the current version.
